My Design: Galaxy Nails

Hello everyone,
I am sorry that I have taken 2 longer than usual gaps inbetween my posts. I have been using the time I normally write my posts in to create new designs or get perfect shots of nail polish I will be using in upcoming posts.
Today I will be sharing with you a nail design I created a few days back. I knew the look I was going for, I wanted it to look like space. I did a number of different galaxy designs until I found the one I like best.
I layered 3 nail polishes for the below look.

I did a few silver splotches on my nail, not minding how messy it was. Then I painted a balck over it, making sure to go sheer were the silver is. Then I added some silver/holo glitter in a black base and layered it up until I liked it. What do you guys think of it?

These are the 3 colours I used. The silver is a Rubi Shoes polish, no name but it's silver. The black is Ulta3's Black Satin, just an ordinary black. Lastly, the glitter in a black base, is BYS' Down The Rabbit Hole, which is from their Alice In Wonderland collection.

Please let me know what you guys thought of this design. Do you want me to do more My Designs like this? It was actually really fun to create!

Review: Ulta3 Mojito

Hello again guys,
Today I am doing a review on Ulta3's nail colour Mojito. To start off yes, I have re-used this picture from one of my previous posts, as I honestly don't have the time to go a re-photograph it. I bought this polish at BigW for $2.
First of all the name Mojito, when I bought this nail polish I had sort of guessed that a mojito was a type of drink. I just wasn't sure if it was a cocktail or an everyday beverage. Turns out it is a cocktail that has mint leaves and lime juice in it. I thought that the name was quite clever and I do enjoy saying "Mojito", it sounds so tropical!
There's nothing special about the packaging. It's just a cyllinder bottle, with an easy to hold lid. I am not inlove with the packaging, but it does the job and hey, this polish was only $2.
The colour of Mojito is what drew me to it. In the bottle I was hoping it would be a pastel green, rather than a turquoise-green colour. I was super disappointed, until I actually tried it on. I love that the colour is so loud and in-your-face.
A downside to this nail polish was the formula. It seemed really thick and gluggy in the bottle but then on the first coat, it was sheer! For the above photo I did have 3 coats on, but some were relatively thick. It also took a while to cover the streakiness of this polish. I waited for the first to be entirely dry, before I went on and did the others.
Overall, I did like this polish. The only thing that could have been better, was the formula. I does turn out a little bit darker than the above picture shows, but nothing too different. I also reccommend using a top coat with Mojito as I found it started to chip almost straight after it dried (be sure to wrap the tips with top coat too).

NOTD #1

Hello again guys,
Today I'm doing my first ever Nails Of The Day! I've seen this done on a tonne of different blogs but all are through out a whole week. I am sorry to say, I could only show you the polish I have worn for the weekend. Hope you enjoy.

This is Pink Friday by OPI, I wore this on Friday night and until Saturday afternoon. My nails are really short because I had to play netball, sorry.

Firstly, yes this is the same photo I used for my "small nail polish haul" swatch. I didn't see the point in going through the hastle of taking another picture of it, again. I am currently wearing this colour on my nails and have been since this afternoon. I don't think I will re-paint my nails until Monday.

Small Nail Polish Haul

So because I haven't posted in awhile, I thought I'd put up 2 posts in a night, lucky you.

Recently, I have bought 3 new polishes; Ulta3's Mojito, Ulta3's Black Satin and BYS' Matte Purple.
I have to say I pretty excited, after trialling these polishes, to wear them more and more.

This is Mojito, a pastel-type green, some might call a turquoise or aqua. i totally fell inlove with this as soon as I found it. I bought it on sale at Big W for only $2!

This is Black Satin, a sleek black colour. Before I say anything else, I found this colour hard to photograph so I had to take a picture from More Nail Polish, I do apologize. I wasn't too excited when I bought this colour, I just knew I needed a plain black colour in my collection- I guess this is it. I also bought this on sale at Big W for $2.

Lastly, this is Matte Purple, an average matte purple. I also had trouble photographing this polish, so I got the brightest lighting on it to see if the colour would show. Unfortunately, this is as good as it got and it is a tiny bit darker than the picture shows. I bought this for $4 at Gloss.
